I’ve been asked a few times: what is Toastmasters and how can it help me? It gives confidence, it builds skills, and it helps you meet interesting people. Networking at it’s best along with personal growth and development.
Believing is the first step. It’s possible, but your must first believe in yourself and your goals. For you to change your life and someone Else’s life; Believe. We must have Vision, a Dream, and know we can make a Difference.
This was my 10th Toastmasters Speech. This was a Motivational speech designed to open people’s perception and expand their thoughts.
Everyone, I am back from Eric Worre’s GoPro Network Marketing Recruiting Mastery Event that took place last week at the Mirage in Las Vegas. We had a wonderful time and an amazing learning experience. In the days to come, I’m going to high light a speaker and share with you what I’ve learned and what knowledge was passed down. Each speaker brought with them ideas and concepts to help us grow and broaden out possibilities.
I was Toastmaster for the Thoroughbred Toastmasters in Bowling Green, Ky.
If you want something bad enough – Les Brown
“If you want a thing bad enough to go out
and fight for it,
to work day and night for it,
to give up your time, your peace and your sleep for it…
if all that you dream and scheme is about it,
and life seems useless and worthless without it…
if you gladly sweat for it and fret for it and plan for it
and lose all your terror of the opposition for it…
if you simply go after that thing you want
with all of your capacity, strength and sagacity,
faith, hope and confidence and stern pertinacity…
if neither cold, poverty, famine, nor gout,
sickness nor pain, of body and brain,
can keep you away from the thing that you want…
if dogged and grim you beseech and beset it,
with the help of God, you will get it!”
This is the Toastmasters Speech I gave on August 25th. The topic is “How We Say It” and titled “Sharing Knowledge”.
I enjoyed the speech and had numerous people brag on it, but I feel I was a bit convoluted and not focused at the beginning. I love speaking and sharing my ideas so I won’t give up and that’s the point of Toastmasters; to help us learn and grow as public speakers.
Last night, in our John Maxwell Class, we discussed Chapter 6 of “Sometimes You Win–Sometimes You Learn”. It’s a great chapter and it’s about HOPE. Hope opens doors. Hope give us strength. Hope overcomes Helplessness.
Don’t let failure stop you from trying and making life happen. You have a dream and a desire. As Les Brown says, “Let ‘No’ be your vitamin.” You have to fail in life to learn the necessary lessons that will create growth in yourself. Don’t give up.
