Yes Man!

The other night I needed to watch something and I decided to re-watch the 2008 Jim Carrey movie, Yes Man. And I’m glad I did. It reminded me to open myself up to talking to people. The character, Carl, said “No” to everything because he was hurt and if you don’t get your hopes up, you can’t be hurt again. However, an old friend of his invited him to a event (Sound familiar?). His friend said “Say Yes”. Carl shows up after realizing something wasn’t right in his life (sound familiar?). He was introduced to “YES” and the leader of the “YES” movement made a covenant with Carl. From this day forward, you will say “yes” to every opportunity and your life will grow and you will be happier. How many things have we said “no” to because it wasn’t the right time or because we were worried about getting hurt? Or do you tell yourself “no”, because your mind made up a negative scenario? My mind screws me up all the time. So I decided to be a Yes Man in my mind. If my mind comes up with a negative scenario, I’m trying to say “Yes” to it.

In the movie, there were some negatives that occurred from Carl saying yes to everything, but for the most part they were minor in comparison to the major positives going on around him. We will always get a few negative responses, but those are just stepping stones to our success. Also, keep in mind, “Yes” brings openness to changes in your life. “Yes” brings about possibilities. If you find yourself blocked by negative thoughts, just be a Yes Man and do it anyway. Or when a friend offers to share his new business, say “yes” to hearing about it. You can say no later, but at least you gave it a try. You may not partake, but you might be able to help him in some way. Or what about in the morning when you are tired and don’t want to get up. Say “YES” to making yourself move. The extra little positive to get going. Treat any mental block as a time to say “YES” to that opportunity; even if it’s minor. Time for me to go share my Savings and Earning with people.

“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of  failure.” – Bill Cosby

I Went to Convention!

This past weekend I was in Orlando, Florida for my company’s Summer National Convention. I had a wonderful time. I met so many new people and connected with people I only talked with on the phone. I ran into people I had met at other events yet we talked like it was yesterday. The convention opened up my possibilities. I saw first hand so many people whose lives have been changed by taking a chance and going for greatness. Here are some of the things I learned from Convention.

  •  To make a difference: Be Different. If you continue to perform “Average”; you will be average. You must perform at a high level to get a high result. Go all out and BE ALL IN! If you do; DO IT!!!
  • Treat it like a business and work it like a job. This is your future you are working on. Don’t take a day off and expect to get paid. It’s too early. Go out there and talk to people. Get out there and push yourself. You can rest later.
  • Be authentic with people. Don’t be fake. Be sincere with others and help where you can. This profession is to help each other grow and learn for the future.
  • Control your emotions, control your attitude and the more positive you are, the more you will attract. Positive Attracts while negative repels. Be the attraction you desire.
  • Speedier the Leader; Speedier the Group. You set the Pace for your team. If you talk to 2 people a month, they will also. If you show your business 4 days a week; they will know to show it 4 days a week.
  • SINALOA: Safety In Numbers And Law Of Averages. Remember, If you want more milk, don’t squeeze harder…Get more Cows. The more people you talk with, the better your outcome. If you get 1 out of 10 people to sign, then you need to talk with 50 people to get 5. Get out and meet people and show your tools.

The things I learned at convention can’t compare to the feeling and belief I now have for my company. The confidence I have for us and our resources has been hugely increased. The pride I now have in what we have to offer is through the roof. If your company has a convention; GO! You will see your belief increase, you will feel your confidence rise and your loyalty to your friends and family in your business deepen.

I’m going to Convention!

I’m going to Convention! Really I am. I am fortunate to have a wonderful friend and ally who is looking out for me and she has made it possible for me to get to Orlando, Florida for our Convention. With work and scheduling, I’m going to fly down on Thursday night and fly home on Sunday evening. I’m really looking forward to going. I need a recharge and at the same time I need to learn. I want to increase my knowledge so I can reach out and help my friends and neighbors. I know the local businesses and families have so much to gain from my service. I also will be able share the way to make more money for people that work hard and help others.

The Convention is a place to learn and reinvigorate from our group and team. Don’t take this lightly. Remember the old fashioned church revival? That was a way for like minded people to get together and rekindle their faith and belief. The Convention is the same thing. We come together and remind ourselves why we are here and why we help others and to prove to each other, It’s Possible.

My company uses it’s Convention to show us all the new savings we offer and more ways to share our stories. It’s gives the new blood like me the chance to rub elbows with the big leaders and movers and shakers that lead the way and stand as an example for the rest of us. As they say, If you want to go to the top, you have to go to convention. I’m going and when I get back. I will start my 90 plan. I’ll see you at the top.

Wednesday Reflection

Wednesday Reflection.

“Admit it. You aren’t like them. You’re not even close. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider, watching the “normal people” as they go about their automatic existences. For every time you say club passwords like “Have a nice day” and “Weather’s awful today, eh?”, you yearn inside to say forbidden things like “Tell me something that makes you cry” or “What do you think deja vu is for?”. Face it, you even want to talk to that girl in the elevator. But what if that girl in the elevator (and the balding man who walks past your cubicle at work) are thinking the same thing? Who knows what you might learn from taking a chance on conversation with a stranger? Everyone carries a piece of the puzzle. Nobody comes into your life by mere coincidence. Trust your instincts. Do the unexpected. Find the others…”

Timothy Leary

We have to reach out and break away to achieve greatness.

I turned 41 on the 5th of July.

I turned 41 on the 5th of July. I’m sorry for the long absence. With the 4th of July holiday festivities, time off from work and my 41st birthday, I’ve been quite busy. This weekend was interesting. We had rain every day except Sunday that caused my original plans to be canceled. So what did I do? I did something else. I was productive. I did clean up and I worked around the house. I then called some contacts and got myself moving. I ended up spending my birthday with a houseful of relatives who I don’t get to spend enough time with. I made the best of what I had at the time. Did I do everything I could have done? No, but I’m not going to beat myself up over. I enjoyed what was happening and I didn’t look at the negative. So many times, we look at what might have been and judge our situations by what we think should have happened. But, things are better for us when we look at what is and look at how things are. Focus on reality. Don’t let yourself say “If Only…”, this causes us to second guess yourself and dwell on “Might Have Been’s”.

This has been a short article, but I want you to remember, life is too short to have “If Only’s” and “Might Have Been’s”. Keep going, make things happen and don’t give up.

Who Do You Look Up To?

Who Do You Look Up To? We all look up to someone. Either close to us or from afar. They could be famous or just an average person who gets our attention. They may invoke trust or emulation. They probably have flaws, but we look past the flaws to the greater good and do our best to learn from them. In facts, the flaws may be the characteristic that sets them apart and cause us to appreciate them even more by allowing the positive traits to stand out and shine even brighter. Below are some of my favorite people in the Network Marketing community. Each one brings a different quality to the table and have helped me grow my mindset and get me moving to a future that will allow me to help my family and friends financially and socially.

  1. Eric Worre – Eric Worre was 23 years old and realized he found what he was looking for. Network Marketing is a better way. It’s a stone cold fact. In the last 20 years, Eric’s passion has been helping others focus and develop the skills to grow in this profession. Eric’s book, Go Pro, has opened my eyes and shown me just what is out there and what I can do to make me a true professional in this business. Anyone that signs up with me gets a copy of Go Pro. That’s how much I love it. He does video blogs on his site and they are always informative. Check him out on Twitter also: @EricWorre
  2. Jim Rohn – I couldn’t list all of this man’s achievement’s, quotes, books, articles, Youtube videos, and TV appearances in one post. His motivating words are known throughout the world. He traveled everywhere to pass on his belief that we are greater than our situation and we don’t need to wish for better times, but for us to be better. “Don’t wish it were easier; wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems; wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenges; wish for more wisdom.” I listen to this man at least 4 mornings a week.
  3. Les Brown – The other 3 days I listen to this man. Les Brown is a testament to motivation. You have to listen to him to really get the full impact. His voice, his passion, his spirit comes through and I know to believe it when he says; “IT”S POSSIBLE!”. Be sure to listen to him on Youtube, also. Twitter Account: @LesBrown77
  4. Jackie Ulmer – She’s the self proclaimed recovering MLM Skeptic. This site wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her and the teaching she’s done. She has shown me the steps to get a website off the grown and at the same time gave me the confidence that Network Marketing is for real. Her podcast is topical and straight to the point with great information for any level. She has coached thousands how to start, own and operate successful home businesses. Twitter Account: @jackieulmer
  5. Todd Falcone – I found out about this guy through Eric Worre. Known as the “The Fearless Networker” with over 21 years of marketing experience, Todd now spends his time teaching and coaching companies and individuals across the world.
He is the President of Reach4Success, LLC and has authored hundreds of articles including Insider Secrets to Recruiting Professionals, How to Win in the Game of Prospecting, The Little Black Book of Scripts, and The Fearless Networker. I love The Little Black Book of Scripts and read it often. Twitter Account: @todd_falcone
  6. Troy Dooley – I listen to this guy numerous times a week on his podcast “The Beachside CEO” on the Blog Talk Radio Network. He has that Entrepreneurial mindset and is a great motivator as well as a wonderful source of experience. His decade plus network marketing experience has uncovered new techniques and new mindsets as well as a few controversies. He is a speaker, a trainer and will be the news director for “The HBRN News Desk”. Like I said, I listen to him weekly and he always seems to have the right story or book to get me to think properly, stay dangerous and act like I’m in network marketing. Twitter Account: @troydooly

Who do you look up to? Come up with your own list and see who speaks to you and who motivates you. It could be anyone, but these guys and lady all give me information, motivation and confidence to do what needs to be done. They all give me belief in myself and they make me stand proud for what I’ve chosen to do.

Whatever you want to do, DO IT! That’s it. Just get off your butt and get doing it. Make your life happen and don’t listen to that stupid voice that says you can’t or they won’t listen to you. Don’t believe when others say it can’t be done. Don’t let anyone tell you, “You Can’t!” YOU CAN!!! Get out there and do it. If you have a dream, follow it. If you have a desire, work for it.
