We forget that everyone has a story and we don’t realize that nearly everyone is comparing themselves to other people. Sometimes this motivates us and sometimes it cause self-limiting beliefs. Don’t compare your Behind The Scenes film to someone’s High-Light Reel.

We can be too selfish. We can let our fears and insecurities stop us from helping others because of our belief of what others may belief. Fear is in our head and we are being selfish by not letting others know how we can help them. Our self-limiting beliefs get in the way of changing someone’s life when we are scared to talk and share what we have for them. Don’t let your fears control you. Do what you fear and they will go away and you will help others.

She’s been around our profession for many years and has earned the respect and admiration from people from all over the world and all manner of businesses. She says we have 3 jobs to do: Ask Questions, Listen, and Tell Stories. Everything else gets in the way. We can’t help anyone if we don’t know what is wrong and we can’t know what is wrong if we don’t listen to them. Telling stories shares with others what our company and team can do for them. It’s opens them up to a new possibility.

We can talk ourselves out doing what we need to better ourselves. We do it all the time by making up little stories in our heads and by letting life distract us from doing what really matters. Don’t let our selfishness keep us from helping and saving others. Go out and do what you must do to build your future.

Become the person you want to be. Go out and make it happen.

This is the Toastmasters Speech I gave on August 25th. The topic is “How We Say It” and titled “Sharing Knowledge”.

I enjoyed the speech and had numerous people brag on it, but I feel I was a bit convoluted and not focused at the beginning. I love speaking and sharing my ideas so I won’t give up and that’s the point of Toastmasters; to help us learn and grow as public speakers.
