This is my Toastmasters Professional Speaker Seminar speech.

Today, I ask that you suspend disbelief and image you are avid game players. You love to learn new things and how to associate those skills with life.
Steve Brown has been a gamesman for most of his life and 16 years ago he discovered something; a new love that changed his thinking and his way of life.
Steve has spent many hours; days and nights circled with other players, listened to hours of instructions, read numerous books and shared his knowledge and skills with new and old players alike.

It’s the compound effect of helping. The more people you help, the more people they can help, and the more people they can help help. Think this way; you help one. That makes 2 helping, then that becomes 4 helping, then 8 helping, then 16 helping, then 32 and more and more. You don’t know who all will be helped, but you can change the world.

We can be too selfish. We can let our fears and insecurities stop us from helping others because of our belief of what others may belief. Fear is in our head and we are being selfish by not letting others know how we can help them. Our self-limiting beliefs get in the way of changing someone’s life when we are scared to talk and share what we have for them. Don’t let your fears control you. Do what you fear and they will go away and you will help others.

Happy New Year to everyone. Go out and make your life changes, but remember you must do them. Take action in your plans. There is greatness within all of you, but it only goes as far as you Act upon it. If you sit on your couch thinking about things, someone will come along and re-possess your couch. Get out there and make your life happen. Start those resolutions and never give up. 70% of the people who start a New Year’s Resolution stop in the first 3 weeks. Don’t be that person. Make a life change and stick with it. For things to change you must change.
